Elk ranch and gay cowboys.

About a week ago I got bored and took a trip out of New Hampshire, just across the Connecticut River into the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. I can not go through Derby Center VT. without stopping at the elk ranch that is located there. As cold as it was that day I still managed to get out of the car and take a few pictures and am posting one here on the blog. It was a sunny day but the wind chill factor was 20 below zero so I didn't stay out of the car for long, that's for sure.
Now I would like to talk about the Oscars that just passed. Let me say that I am sure glad that brokeback mountain did not get an Oscar as expected. The reason for that I think is because people in my age bracket, two to four years older then dirt just aren't ready for a gay cowboy. We grew up with westerns like the Lone Ranger and Wyatt Earp and would not be ready for a remake of Tombstone where Wyatt and Doc Holiday are sleeping together. Can you just hear Doc saying to Wyatt,“ Wyatt you simply must shoot that man, he is wearing pearl handle pistols after labor day”. So let's make it a rule no gay cowboys {not that there's anything wrong with that.} as long as us baby boomer's are still alive. Now that I have subjected you to my sic sense of humor it is time for the Layz1 from the Great North Woods to say “ this is me saying goodbye to you till whenever.
